3/8 Inch Stone

A "3/8 inch stone," also often called "pea gravel," is a small, rounded stone typically measuring around 3/8 inch in diameter, with a smooth texture and often used for decorative landscaping purposes like walkways, driveways, flower beds, and drainage applications due to its size and ability to provide good water flow; it can come in various colors depending on the source rock, including browns, grays, and even reds or blues.

3/4 Inch Stone

3/4” Stone is a crushed aggregate commonly used in drainage, backfilling, and various landscaping applications. Produced by passing through a 3/4” screen, this stone is angular and ranges in size from 3/4” down to 1/2″, making it ideal for projects that require efficient drainage and easy handling.

1-1/2 Inch Crushed Stone

1-1/2 inch crushed stone is a versatile, angular, medium-sized aggregate made from crushed rocks that have passed through a 1-1/2 inch square screen. It is typically gray or white in color, with a polished look that blends in well with most landscapes. Its medium size allows for effective water flow, making it a popular choice for French drains, septic systems, and other drainage projects. It can be used as a base layer for driveways, walkways, patios, and other outdoor projects. Crushed stone can be used as an accent, around trees and shrubs, or mixed with asphalt and concrete.

3 Inch crushed stone's size and gradation make it ideal for French drains, septic drain fields and as a base layer for drainage. It is also used as a foundation later to give robust support and manage water runoff. Because of this stone's larger size, landscape designers also like to use 3 inch aggregate for decorative purposes and erosion control. Typically found to be white or gray in color

4-8 Inch Crushed Stone

4-8 inch crushed stones are significantly large, ranging from 4 to 8 inches across. Because of the crushing process, the stones have sharp, irregular edges, which helps them interlock and provide stability. Primarily used for building retaining walls, lining drainage ditches, creating robust foundations, and filling gabion baskets. Due to its size, handling and placement can be challenging, and may require specialized equipment.

Many customers have special footing applications and mix designs for their specific project needs. We have the ability to custom blend products to meet those different specifications. Additionally, we offer materials designed for base and drainage. For homeowners with smaller projects, we offer several product options to meet budget requirements. Washed Concrete Sand

Washed concrete sand is a coarse, clean sand that has been processed to remove fine particles and debris, leaving behind larger, durable grains, typically used for mixing with cement to create concrete, as a base layer for pavers, or for leveling applications due to its ability to pack tightly; it is essentially a coarse sand that has been washed and screened to remove impurities, resulting in a consistent, robust material with a slightly rough texture, often appearing in shades of tan or grey depending on the source rock.

Plaster Sand

Plaster sand is a fine-grained, clean-washed sand used for plastering, rendering, and other applications. Plaster sand is washed to remove silt, salt, and clay, which gives it a smooth finish and reduces the risk of cracking and shrinking. It's finer than building sand but not as coarse as concrete sand. Plaster sand is used for making plaster, concrete, mortar mixes, and stucco. It can also be used to set pavers, fill in holes and low spots in lawns, and blend with rock dust for horse tracks and stalls.

Rock Dust

Rock dust, also known as stone dust, is primarily used in construction as a filler material between pavers, patio stones, and other landscaping elements, creating a stable base by filling gaps and providing a smooth surface. It’s an ideal layer under artificial grass but looks great as a decorative feature in landscaping too. Rock dust is also a good option for driveways and walkways.

CONSTRUCTION AGGREGATES

Recycled Class II Base

Recycled class 2 base is made from crushed concrete, asphalt, brick, porcelain, and block. The color of the material can vary depending on the percentage of each material. Recycled class 2 base is used as a base or sub-base for roads, parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and building foundations. Recycled class 2 base is a more economical option than virgin base rock, and it helps conserve natural resources. Recycled class 2 base meets the specifications of the State of California Standard Specifications, Section 26, and Caltrans Class 2 base rock specifications.

Natural (Virgin) Class II Base

3/4 inch Aggregate Base, Class 2, is used in roadways and is an aggregate made of a specific recipe of different sizes and quality of rock inclusive of 3/4 inch to fine dust. An aggregate is normally made from newly quarried rock

C- Mix

C-Mix is a combination of concrete sand and 3/8" gravel. It is mixed with cement and water to produce concrete.

Screened DG/ Fill Dirt

Screened DG (decomposed granite) or "fill dirt" refers to dirt that has been pre-sorted and carefully processed. The resulting material is composed only of small particles, typically free from larger pieces and rocks. This ensures a smooth texture when applied, providing optimal conditions for soil permeability.

LANDSCAPE MATERIALS

Topsoil

Topsoil is a good choice for filling up raised beds, repairing eroded spots, or filling in holes. When planting a new lawn or overseeding a patchy lawn, you can use a thin layer of topsoil to protect grass seeds as they sprout. One thing you shouldn’t use topsoil for is filling your containers. Mixing topsoil with existing soil helps to create a transition layer that helps to prevent drainage problems between the two soil types. Mix compost with topsoil to create your potting compost which is the tactic that many nurseries do because it combines the advantages of soil with the benefits of compost.

Mulch/ Ground Cover

Mulch is primarily used to suppress weeds, conserve soil moisture, prevent erosion, regulate soil temperature, and add nutrients to the soil by providing a protective layer around plants, acting as a barrier against weeds while also improving the overall appearance of a garden bed; it can also be used as a decorative element around outdoor features like statues or fountains.
